CERTIFIED TRANSPORT PLANNER CAPABILITY OUTLINE

To qualify as a CTP candidate, you must be able to accumulate at least 400 points from the following table of Transport Planning exposure areas, subject to the minimum and maximum points set out in the table.


Please note what constitutes “examples” and “supporting evidence” for each Exposure Area. Also note that all copies of documents subsequently submitted to your nominated assessing organisation must be sighted and signed by a Justice of the Peace/Solicitor or a CTP as to be true and original.


  1. 1. Current or Recent Transport Planning Experience.

      Examples of educational qualifications: In general terms, a university provided award or equivalent international professional qualification in transport planning or management, such as a Bachelor degree in Engineering/Geography/Economics/Town Planning with or without a Traffic/Transport Planning major, Graduate Certificate or Diploma in a Transport Planning/Management area, Master Degree in Transport Planning/Management, other Master Degree/ MBA that includes courses in transport related areas.


      Examples of supporting evidence: Official or certified copy of transcript from education provider, listing modules/courses successfully completed as part of award received, together with a certified copy of award (eg Graduate Diploma, Degree). The nominated assessing association will determine equivalence during the assessment process.

    2. Examples of vocational training: In general terms, a Certificate provided under the Australian Qualification Framework (AQF) or equivalent international framework in transport management, including transport modes or infrastructure management.


      Examples of executive program: Short courses in transport evaluation methods/modal operations/traffic precincts. Intensive program in traffic or transport management, or leadership development program directed to roles in transport/traffic planning or management.

      Examples of supporting evidence: Official or certified copy of transcript from training provider, listing modules/courses successfully completed as part of award received, together with a certified copy of award (eg Certificate)). For executive programs, a record of attendance and outcomes. The nominated assessing association will determine equivalence during the assessment process.

    1. Example of roles: Chair, President, Vice President, Director, Committee Member, and/or Sub Committee Member of Government and/or Non-government entities or project groups.


      Examples of supporting evidence to be provided: Letter of appointment or reference letter from entity or group chair/president.

  1. 8. Transport Planning-related Industry Participation and Contributions in Supply Chain Transport Planning.

    1. Examples of participation: Published work, presentation/speaking engagement, conference chair, breakout leader, judging panel, industry mentor.


      Examples of supporting evidence to be provided: Overview/copy of event paper, etc and proof of participation/contribution therein.
